Senior Project Manager

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for all Project Management activities required for

the bidding of, and the subsequent delivery of, internal and external client projects. The Senior

Project Manager must have demonstrable experience of the delivery of cross-functional

engineering projects to clearly defined cost, quality and delivery schedule KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, although are not limited to the following:

 Working as part of a bid team responsible for the preparation of Project Management bid

documentation and associated baseline project plan for review and submission to internal

and external stakeholders.

 Performing a client-facing role, responsible for the client relationship ensuring that the

client remains informed with project progress whilst protecting the wellbeing of the

project and the project team.

 Successfully delivering projects through the clients gated delivery process ensuring that the

relevant KPIs are met and that all necessary documentation is prepared, and configuration

controlled, in line with the businesses quality processes.

 Leading multi-disciplined technical teams to deliver complex development projects into


 Monthly reporting of project health to the leadership team focusing on company

KPIs, preparing timely executive level reports to ensure critical information is

communicated effectively.

 Implementing and actively managing a live risk register, working with the engineering

teams to identify mitigation activities to safeguard successful delivery of the project.

 Working with engineering, supply chain and third party suppliers to ensure timely delivery

of high quality external components into the project at agreed milestone dates.

 Working with the Director of Project Management and the Engineering Quality group to

assist with the continued development and application of the companies Project

Management processes.

 Working with the clients supply chain and production test teams within UK and China to

ensure product is ‘designed for’ and ‘suitable for’ production.

 Demonstrable experience of project management within an Engineering or Automotive Tier

1 supplier

 Leadership of multi-disciplined teams

 Demonstrable full Product Life Management experience

 Broad engineering knowledge and understanding

 Degree in relevant engineering discipline


 APM or equivalent qualification

 Practical Six Sigma knowledge and understanding

 Knowledge of Engineering Quality practices

 Knowledge of Confluence and Jira software tools
